REGARDING ENGLISH SPEAKING DRIVERS:

We like to inform our guests in order to avoid false expectations.

Please be informed that when somebody books for an English speaking driver we always note our guests than a driver is not a licensed tour guide, he cannot guide inside the monuments, or provide same information as a tour guide, and of course its language skills are not the same as a licensed tour guide.

In Spain to be a licensed tour guide you need to have an university degree and pass exams which are proving your knowledge about Mallorca and language skills.

As we informed you, a driver can give you tips, inform you about the meeting point or departure time and maybe answer simple questions about the island but is not a licensed tour guide.

Please confirm receipt of this mail and please confirm the service if you are still interested if not I will refund the total amount of the services. We prefer to inform the guest before than have complaints with our services.

Departure from the pier, you will be driven through the Paseo Marítimo of Palma, Palma’s Cathedral, Almudaina Palace, historic downtown area, City of Palma, patios of Palma, Paseo del Borne, Plz.Weyler, Rambla, continuing through the city center to the bullring. The Orquídea pearl factory, founded in 1952, is located at the heart of Mallorca, near the small town of Montuiri. It has the largest exhibition of Mallorcan pearls, 2000 m, from where you can buy high quality jewellery and cultivated pearls, as well as having the oppoortunity to see the process by which the Mallorcan pearls are made.

Exhibititon of more than 1000 designs of earrings, rings, bracelets, necklaces etc.

The Orquídea pearl factory exports to more than 40 countries on the five continents and has received innumerable awards for their export activities.

The island enjoys a privileged climate and the best time to visit is between April and October.  Located in the centre of the Bay of Palma is the main city of Palma de Mallorca.

Palma de Mallorca is the largest city on Mallorca and the capital of the Balearic Islands. It is located on the west of Mallorca where the main Port is also found, a port which serves as the point of entry for thousands of cruise passengers. This beautiful city is one of the main tourist centres in the archipelago.  But, as well as being famous for its beaches and nightlife, Palma de Mallorca is also extremely interesting from an historical and architectural point of view.

Mallorca guide, Palma de Mallorca – Historic Centre:

With the exception of the “Castillo de Bellver”, the most important monuments in Palma de Mallorca are concentrated in the historic “old town”, dominated by the gothic style “la Seu” Cathedral.In front of the Cathedral is the Palacio de la Almudaina.

From the artistic and architectural point of view, walking through Palma, one can admire: The gothic Cathedral “la Seu” built on the remains of a mosque. Inside we can see the restauration made by Gaudí including a beautiful rose window, the north facade, in which fantastical animals called Gargoyles are represented. In front of the Cathedral is the Palacio de la Almudaina, occupying a site dating back to the Roman era.  Nearby is the  “huerto del Rey”, a pretty garden decorated with sculptures.  The Arab Baths (Baños Árabes), the ancient remains of the Arab presence in Palma and “la Lonja”, a gothic building.

We recommend a visit to the “Castillo de Bellver”, the only circular castle in Spain, inside which is a museum devoted to Palma’s history. The Castle is sited on the top of a hill from which one has a beautiful panoramic view of the city of Palma.
